The Southlands jungles didn't really add anything special/unique - the most "outstanding" settlements were probably Yuatek for Skaven and the elven colonies. Lustria is the jungle continent, Southlands are now mostly deserts fitting for the upcoming Tomb Kings. (ME + Blood and Gore at once pretty please!! :P)įrom a gameplay point of view it probably does (as I said I'm not 100% happy with everything but I can accept their point of view). I'm excited to play it obviously! Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Maybe 5 turns ulthuan-bretonnia? Fewer from Naggaroth to Ulthuan? And I will miss the southern elven colonies :'( It should be a little investment to do so. I can't imagine needing only 2 turns to Ulthuan from either side (especially Alberic invading Yvresse Turn 5 would feel really odd).

I hope in specific waters your movement is greatly decreased. On the other hand I don't really like the tiny oceans. So from a gameplay-aspect it all makes perfect sense.

Also the new and old races are not divided by 20 turns of water! Invading Ulthuan as DE will be more natural now - even early on, the Gates of Ulthuan will get more stage time which I like a lot. The Old World is the most flashed out part of the Warhammer World (followed by Ulthuan) - so it does make a lot of sense to see them represented in that detailed fashion (compared to the rest).Īlso I think it is nice to not fight the same races forever in such a rich world. We don't need a second lustria in the Southlands - places should be diverse and now lustria and the Southlands feel unique and every continent has its theme more or less. On the one hand a huge and vast Naggaroth doesn't add anything. Not sure if I like every aspect of it though. I think this map does make A LOT of sense. I suspect there'll be less Skaven around, but since Clan Skryre had no business being in Lustria anyway I don't mind them getting sent back to Skavenblight where they belong. Most of the settlements removed are ruins. Hell, even the Blue Vipers and Spine of Sotek Dwarfs seem to be intact.

Oyxl is still there, and according to CA Lord Skrolk has not been moved.

The High Elves have lost Great Turtle Isle and the Fortress of Dusk, but Teclis has been moved to the Star Tower.

The Vampire Coast has lost a minor settlement, but is still there.

The Settler's Coast has been absorbed into another province, but is still there.

Skeggi has been demoted to a minor settlement, but is still there.

Only the Southern Sentinels have been cut.

Of the Lizardmen factions, Hexoatl, Tlaxtlan, Xlanhuapec, Itza, and the Sentinels of Xeti are still there.

That's a total of 38 settlements, spread across 12 provinces. In fact, I checked the datamine of the provinces for Mortal Empires and compiled a list of Lustrian provinces: Think we missed one? Give us a Modmail and suggest new Subreddits to add to the lists!
